Woody Allen

Born Allen Stewart Konigsberg, Woody Allen showed comedic talent early, beginning to write for Sid Caesar at the age of sixteen. William Morris Agency represented Allen while he was still in high school. He attempted to attend New York University and study film production, but soon dropped out to become a full-time comedy writer, writing scripts for The Ed Sullivan Show, The Tonight Show and others.

He soon developed the neurotic persona that would later become famous from his many movies and took it into the clubs. By 26, he was consistently appearing in comedy clubs across the nation and on as a guest on a variety of talk shows
