Red Grant

comedian Very few comedians can make people laugh just by laughing, but Red Grant's infectious signature laugh does just that to audiences everywhere. The comedian then keeps the laughter going with his mesmerizing jokes centered around everyday life that almost everyone can relate to. Red has been making audiences fall out of their seats with outlandish side-splitting humor for over a decade. He has most recently served as the host of The Pimp Chronicles II Tour featuring Katt Williams, Luenell (Borat) and Melanie Comarcho (Three Strikes).

The Washington, DC, native discovered comedy when his dream of becoming a professional football player evaporated after being kicked off his college football team for having a bad attitude.

"I went back home and began selling cars at 19. It was the worse job I ever had, I hated it. When I thought things couldn't get any worse, my best friend suggested that I should try comedy since I was so funny and the life of the fraternity house parties we used to have. I took his advice and worked the D.C. comedy clubs for six months to hone my skills and I haven't looked back," says Red.

During those six months a producer of "Def Comedy Jam" saw Red and invited him on the show. While in New York that same weekend, Red also appeared on "Show Time at the Apollo." The Washington, DC, native discovered comedy when his dream of becoming a professional football player evaporated after being kicked off his college football team for having a bad attitude.

While in New York that same weekend, Red also appeared on "Show Time at the Apollo." Audiences at both venues loved him! From that exposure Red was able to make connections at BET and later guest starred on a comedy show with Monique for the talk show "Teen Summit." That led to a position as "Teen Summit's" New York correspondent for two years. It was at BET where Red learned to produce and direct his own shows. After earning the respect and confidence of BET execs he was asked to write/produce/direct five shows for the network geared toward African Americans. His shows "The Lobby," "21 Questions Reloaded," "The Chubby Man's Show" and "Remix" were well received by audiences. At the same time he was appearing on BET's "ComicView" and garnered some of the show's highest ratings when he headlined during the 2006 season.

"I want people to know that I'm a comedian and a business man and I really believe I was put on this planet to help people. I demolish stages wherever I perform and I have every intention of bringing that same energy to wherever I go, especially to your city" says Red.

The driven comedian also started his own production company, MOVIEOS.net, and released several original music videos and DVDs starring himself and other comedians. His most popular one to date is "Family Reunion The Movie". He has sold over 500,000 of his movies on DVD. His other business venture Red Creative specializes in providing scripts and show concepts for other entertainers.

In 2001, Red began a non-profit organization, "Don't Shoot Guns, Shoot Cameras", aimed at showing youth how to vent their frustrations and show their creativity through film. Don't Shoot Guns Shoot Cameras has proven to be a huge success in deterring juvenile crime and is now in 13 schools in the D.C. area. If laughter is a healing agent then Red Grant is prescribing himself for the masses. He recently signed a production deal with Record Plant CEO Rick Stevens to produce four new DVDs. The first, called "You Talkin' Bout Me" is scheduled to be released this year. He is also featured in the sequel to Katt Williams' hilariously popular HBO special "The Pimp Chronicles II."

It's obvious that Red is determined to make himself a top contender in the comedy game. "My moms always told me that if you want something, no one else is going to do it for you, you have to do it yourself. There are no limits. I just started touching the surface. So the world better watch out because ya'll ain't seen nothing yet!" says Red.

Red Grant currently resides in Lost Angeles, CA, and will be coming to your city or town making you holler. Make sure you are there to witness the new era of comedy. [LESS]
