With more than twenty years as a stand-up, Louis C.K. is one of the most honest and respected comedic voices of his generation, finding success in television and film as well as the live stage. His pilot for "Louie" was recently picked up by FX for 13 episodes. Louis will executive produce, write, direct and star in the series.

As a stand-up, Louis recently taped his national theater tour, "Louis C.K.: Hilarious," to be released as his third hour special in as many years. Louis made the leap from stand-up clubs to theaters with his previous tour, "Louis C.K.: Chewed Up," which was taped as his second hour special premiering on Showtime and released on CD and DVD to critical acclaim. The special was also nominated for an Emmy Award. His first hour special, "Louis C.K.: Shameless," premiered on HBO in January 2007 to critical acclaim and was released on DVD that June. Louis made his London debut performing "Chewed Up" in a sold-out run at The Soho Theatre, and he presented the show at the Edinburgh Festival to rave reviews. Louis begins a theater tour of Canada and Europe on September 25, 2009.

In addition to "Chewed Up" and "Shameless," Louis starred in two HBO "One Night Stand" half-hour stand-up specials, a "Comedy Central Presents" special, HBO's "25th Anniversary Young Comedians" special and is a regular on "The Late Show with David Letterman" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien."

Louis created and starred in HBO's first traditional sitcom, "Lucky Louie," about the struggles of first-time parenthood. The complete first season of "Lucky Louie" is available on DVD.

As a filmmaker, Louis is best known for his cult classic Blaxploitation spoof, "Pootie Tang," which he wrote and directed. Louis' first feature film, "Tomorrow Night," an independent film that he produced, wrote and directed, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 1998. Louis' most successful short film, "Ice Cream," screened at Sundance and the "New Directors, New Films" series at MOMA in 1994. "Ice Cream" went on to be sold in several foreign television markets and can still be seen on Bravo.

Louis will star in the new Ricky Gervais film, "The Invention of Lying," alongside Jennifer Garner and Rob Lowe, and he will have a recurring role in the NBC series "Parks and Recreation." In 2008, Louis was seen in "Diminished Capacity" with Matthew Broderick, Virginia Madsen and Alan Alda and "Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins" with Martin Lawrence, Mike Epps and Cedric the Entertainer.
