Harvard Sailing Team is a sketch comedy group of four men and five women dedicated to spic and span humor of Ivy League standards.
Their sketch comedy is characterized by scenes that transform everyday life into absurdity, and is fueled by a strong group dynamic, which integrates each member's personal comic style. HST is Rebecca Brey, Jen Curran, Clayton Early, Faryn Einhorn, Katie Larsen, Adam Lustick, Billy Scafuri, Chris Smith and Sara Taylor. Most members of the team have been friends since studying together at NYU's Atlantic Theater Company Acting School from which they graduated in 2004.
In 2008, HST was named "Best Sketch Comedy Group" by the ECNY awards: NYC's original comedy awards. HST has been featured at Caroline's on Broadway, The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, Gotham Comedy Club, The People's Improv Theater (The PIT), Chicago SketchFest, SketchFestNYC, National College Comedy Festival, Toronto SketchFest, Charleston's Piccolo Spoleto Arts Festival and the NY Comedy Festival's: Longest Sketch Show Ever among others.
Since September 2006 they have been housed Saturdays at The PIT and have presented three full-length original sketch shows, including their latest 100 Years of Song and Dance. This past month, the team's latest videos "Honey, I'm Home!", "Grandpa's Wake" and "Mystic River II: Sean Penn picks up his daughter" were featured on CollegeHumor.com and received over 200,000 hits.
