Allison Castillo
Allison Castillo's one-woman show, Who Do You Think You Are?, was selected for the 2000 HBO U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado. It also played in New York at PSNBC, and as part of the Toyota Comedy Festival at PS 122. Her most recent show, Unsolved Miseries, played at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and Joe's Pub in New York. Both shows were featured at the HBO/Warner TV Workspace in Los Angeles.
Named Best Female Stand Up at the Emerging Comics of New York 2004 Awards, Allison will appear on the upcoming season of Comedy Central's Premium Blend. A semi-finalist in Comedy Central's 1999 & 2000 Laugh Riots stand-up competitions, she has performed in the Marshall's Women in Comedy Festival in New York and the Latino Laugh Festival in San Antonio, Texas. She is a regular and host at both Luna Lounge and Hump Night, the popular alternative comedy show at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. In addition, she has appeared at Gotham Comedy Club, Stand Up New York, Comic Strip Live, The New York Improv and Laugh Lounge. Allison co-produces Sweet Paprika with partner Ophira Eisenberg, a weekly stand up show at The Village Lantern in New York. Sweet Paprika was featured in the 2004 Spotlight on Comedy Issue of Back Stage as part of "10 Standout Stand Ups Worth Watching." Allison also hosts the Great American Karaoke Challenge at the Tropicana Hotel in Atlantic City.
